Principal’s Message
Welcome to Central School, Home of the Wildcats!
I am honored to be the next principal of Central School. This will be my 20th year in education for the 2023-2024 school year, and my sixth year in TUSD. Prior to coming to Central, I taught 4th grade at Jacobson Elementary and was Assistant Principal at Art Freiler School.
I grew up in Wisconsin and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have also taught in Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland, Orange County Public Schools in Florida, and Antioch Unified School District in California. I have experience teaching 1st grade, 2nd grade, 5th grade, 6th grade ELA, and was a Reading Specialist and Testing Coordinator. I also earned my Masters in Reading and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys. We like traveling to new places. Our boys also keep us busy with their sports and extra-curricular activities.
Central's vision is that every student will develop a deep love of reading. I am confident that this school year, your student will continue to learn and show growth academically, social-emotionally and physically. Our staff is eager to work with your students and provide a safe, loving, and fun environment to succeed in.
Go Wildcats!
Mrs. April Jacobs, Principal
